SUNY REOC: Rochester Educational Opportunity Center

Anita Moore knew that healthcare was an “in-demand” professional field. She enrolled in the REOC Medical Secretary program in order to combine her years of experience as a Paralegal with her desire to work in the medical field. Having experience in secretarial and administrative responsibilities in her previous employment, she knew that these qualities would lend nicely to her new career focus.

Through REOC’s Medical Secretary program, Anita was able to establish a contact during her internship at Highland Hospital. This contact resulted in her current employment with Highland Hospital; initially as a Medical Secretary and leading to her promotion to Staffing Coordinator in the Department of Nursing. Anita’s ultimate goal is to combine her love for both health care and law. She is currently working toward a degree in law.
