F.A.Q.'s

Q: How can a Counselor help me?
A: Each student is assigned a Program Counselor upon enrollment at REOC.  Counselors assist students with personal, family, health and social services concerns as well as academic and career advisement.  Program Counselors also provide information regarding legal aid, housing assistance, health care, and other important referral information.   Counselors serve as a referral source directing the student to community agencies and/or contacts that assist students with their problems and concerns.

Q: How do I meet with a Counselor?
A: Anytime a student has concerns, he or she is highly encouraged to seek the guidance and support of REOC Counselors.  Program Counselors have specified day and/or evening hours, listed here on the REOC website, and also posted in the REOC building elevator and at the Counseling Center (REOC building Suite 212).  See your designated Program Counselor for specific appointment times.

Q: What happens if I share personal or private information with my Counselor?
A: Conversations and counseling sessions between the student and Program Counselor are confidential.

Q: I did not receive a Student Handbook/Planner at registration or Convocation.  How do I get one?
A: See your Program Counselor to determine the availability of a Student Handbook/Planner.  If you did not participate in Convocation, you may need to complete a one-on-one orientation with your Counselor.
