Q: Can you tell me more about the Medical Secretary, Office and Administrative Support and Medical Office Preparation Programs?
A: Both the Medical Secretary and Office and Administrative Support Programs are 30-week certificate programs where classes are held during the day from 8:30 a.m.-2:10 p.m. Both programs prepare the student for entry-level employment in a variety of healthcare and office environments. Potential careers include receptionist, office clerk, typist, secretary, records clerk, file clerk, office assistant, data entry assistant, and keyboard specialist. Each program offers hands-on training through participation in an internship experience. The Medical Office Preparation program is a series of 3 ten-week evening classes where classes meet twice a week for 30-weeks. The courses in the MOP program include medical terminology, medical billing and coding, and medical transcription. Students must meet certain requirements in all the programs.

A: The requirements for admittance into the Office Technology day programs is a TABE score of 8.0 reading, 8.0 math and a high school diploma or GED.
